There's something about a man in a suit ... Let me try that again - there's something about a man in a well-tailored suit.
So many designers are producing tailoring so the options are amazing. I love this suit from Workshop. Ever since Hedi Slimane's Dior Homme tenure and the 2006 reinvention of Miami Vice I can't go past a charcoal suit, especially when it's styled so simply with a classic white T-shirt and hot sneaker.
In The Line Up I have included selections from menswear specialists Working Style and Barkers, and from fashion superstar Zambesi. The classic Blue Birdseye suit from Working Style will work for a variety of ages and uses, as will the slim-fit grey suit from Barkers. The Mr Pink jacket from Zambesi teamed with a slim trouser, white shirt and leather tie is totally worthy of its badass moniker and oozes fashion swag.
Whether you wear a suit for work or fashion, in this weather a great coat is essential.
WORLDman's Peso coat fits that bill, especially when teamed with these beautiful cashmere-lined nappa leather gloves from Crane Brothers, a fabulous Paul Smith floral scarf and classic pair of Brando leather boots with a twist, both from Fifth Ave.
After decades in the rag trade the best advice I can give to a regular suit-wearer is to buy two pairs of trousers. If you let your trousers "relax between wears" - leave them to hang in an airy spot - and ensure you dryclean your entire suit at the same time, you should get maximum wear for your spend. Boys - it's time to suit up!
