Riccardo Tisci knows how to create an atmosphere
The Givenchy men circle the audience, like a circus, lit up solely by candles on the ground. At every presentation, Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy, knows how to create an atmosphere that is both mystical and warm, and for his menswear show, he invites us into his own world, surrounding strong personal inspirations : from an American obsession - the American flag appears as reflective on a jumper, to Robert Mapplethorpe photos pasted on the clothes, and even some are placed under silk sweaters and shirts. The weaving, that Tisci particularly likes, returns on leather and wool on bomber jackets and on a matching t-shirt and trouser ensemble. For the evening, velvet trousers are combined with white shirts and waistcoats unzipped along the back. Every detail has been thought about, Tisci likes to work in a couture way surrounding luxurious materials for menswear as well as for the women and it could even be said that this was one of the finest men's collections of the season.
