Swedish model Anna Maria Mostrom has been left brain dead following a collision with a bus last week.
The 29-year-old Scandinavia's Next Top Model contestant sustained a traumatic brain injury after she was struck by a bus driver making a turn while riding her bike in Manhattan on Wednesday.
She is currently on life support at New York Cornell Hospital and while her family is trying to remain positive, doctors have informed them to prepare for the worst.
"She was rammed off the bus and the damage was so severe that she is brain dead," Mostrom's father Ronny said. "We can hope for a miracle, but the doctors said there is no realistic chance."
The model underwent two surgeries, which have stemmed the bleeding, but she is still unable to breathe on her own, according to the New York Post.
Police are investigating the accident, but the 51-year-old driver has not been charged and remained at the scene after the crash.
He was behind the wheel of the Red Bus, which circles the island, and was going south when he hit her.
The island between Manhattan and Queens is sparsely populated and has little vehicular traffic as many people normally reach it by the Subway or gondola.
Mostrom was a contestant on Sweden's Next Top Model in 2005 and has since appeared in fashion shows for Oscar de la Renta and Roberto Cavalli.
