The third day of New Zealand Fashion Week kicks off at midday, with a show from Salasai. Designer Kirsha Whitcher is now based in Perth, returning to New Zealand to show. Her collections have evolved greatly in recent seasons, with a growing maturity, so it will be interesting to see her next move. The show will be styled by our own Dan Ahwa, Canvas magazine's fashion editor.
Australian designer Charlie Brown is famous for her big shows in Sydney, and will add a touch of glamour - and no doubt leopard print - to the day with a show this afternoon. We hear that a certain rockin' blonde Aucklander will make an appearance on the runway...
Annah Stretton will celebrate 20 years in business with a show this afternoon featuring a selection of memorable archival pieces - including the boars head, made infamous in 2004 when the designer sent a model down the runway wearing it with a ball gown.
Also showing today: Blak, Taylor and Stolen Girlfriends Club this evening.
What the Viva fashion team are anticipating today:
Amanda Linnell, Viva editor
Salasai, 12.30pm
"Salasai is on my radar. Designer Kirsha Whitcher stepped up with her current spring/summer collection - feminine, mature, individual. Will this evolution continue?"
Zoe Walker, Viva fashion features editor
Stolen Girlfriends Club, 8.30pm
"They always put on a buzzy evening show, with a party atmosphere - something that's been a little lacking this week. The show is off-site too, one of just three this week - apparently it will be held in a car park. I'd really like to see one of their collections presented and styled in a way that was tidied up a little, although the collection, called Dead End, is inspired by a doomsday event - so unlikely!"
