The Australian Rugby Union has stepped up its chase for rugby league talent by hiring the scouting skills of former dual international Michael O'Connor.
Frustrated at its ability to make inroads into rugby league ranks, the ARU said O'Connor's principal role would be to identify and recruit players from union and, particularly, league, as well as work on the development of up-and-coming players.
