But the new festival is expanded and being held in a bigger venue, showing the success of nostalgia-driven shows at the moment.
Other throwback festivals on the calander include Friday Jams, a one-day R&B-driven event featuring Sean Paul, Craig David, Ne-Yo, Kelis and Chrstina MIlian, in October.
Hits by acts on the I Love the 90s bill include Sisqo's The Thong Song, Blackstreet's No Diggity, Montell Jordan's This Is How We Do It, Snap's The Power and C&C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat.
In a statement, Blackstreet said they were looking forward to soundtracking the nostalgia party of 2017.
"Hey Auckland, Let's have a party. We're excited to be coming over. See you at the shows. Let get this party started," said Blackstreet in a statement.
Rob Base, known for his hit It Takes Two, said they'd be keeping the spirt of the 90s alive.
"The 90's are alive and we are going to live them again on this tour! It takes two plus you and we have a party," he said.
Tickets go on sale from September 29.
