You'll either groan or prepare for compulsive viewing - TV3 is searching for a fresh cast of Kiwi beauties for a new series of The Bachelor.

Women aged 21-35 who are "genuinely looking for love and plenty of adventure" are being invited to try out for the reality dating show, which will air next year, MediaWorks will announce today.

The franchise has been a worldwide success. Thirty countries have taken part in their own search for love.

In the Kiwi version of the show, season one bachelor Art Green and his partner Matilda Rice - to whom he gave the final rose at the end of the series - are reportedly still happily together.

But this year, controversy erupted when season two bachelor Jordan Mauger dumped Fleur Verhoeven just days after she was crowned the winner.

MediaWorks chief content officer Andrew Szusterman is excited to see what 2017 will deliver.

"New Zealanders love to immerse themselves in a prospective love story and so far we've had a pretty good relationship hit rate," he said.

"In 2017 we're aiming for two out of three."

The bachelor's identity will be a closely guarded secret to be revealed closer to the series launching next year.

The Bachelor NZ season three will follow a group of bachelorettes willing to put their hearts on the line to win the attention and affection of the bachelor through a series of group dates, one-on-one dates, and of course, the famous rose ceremony.

Bachelorette hopefuls can head to tv3.co.nz/bachelornz to find The Bachelor NZ casting call.
