The next Blade Runner film will be released exactly one year from today.
Warner Bros. is marking the special occasion by revealing the movie's official title: Blade Runner 2049.
For those who don't get it, '2049' refers to the year in which the new film will be set. The original Blade Runner movie took place in November 2019.
It's been three decades in movie time and a little bit less than 35 years in real time since the original Blade Runner movie was released in 1982.
The press release from Warner Bros. says: "Story details are not being revealed."
So we are tough out of luck for any other morsels of information, but what we do know is that it has a great cast; Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Carla Juri, Ana de Armas, Hiam Abbass, David Dastmalchian, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks and Dave Bautista.
Check out the photo below of director Denis Villeneuve, Ridley Scott, Ford, and Gosling chilling out on set with Ford making a gesture at Scott.
Fans of the original are sure to have their fingers crossed for 2049, which could end up being a pretty great film.
