A busker who was talent spotted by pop singer Seal in a Manchester street and sang a song with him was invited to open for his gig in the city later that night.
The Kiss from a Rose star was in town for a sold-out show at the Bridgewater Hall on Friday when he spotted Poppy Waterman-Smith singing in Picadilly Gardens.
Just six hours after first meeting him, he was playing to a packed-out crowd of more than 2000 people as Seal's warm-up act.
The 53 year-old star, based in California, told the audience to huge applause: "I was on a walkabout today and heard the dulcet tones of this beautiful lady.
"She was busking down town so I'm bringing her to you from the streets of your very own Manchester," he said, before she played four of her own songs and a cover of Bob Marley's Redemption Song.
