Battle of the sexes for latest series of The Block

Men are being pitted against women in the new season of The Block NZ.

MediaWorks has announced that the fifth season of the reality TV series, in which four pairs do up houses room by room, will air on TV3 from May 29.

This year two teams of women and two teams of men will compete to renovate four 1980s town houses in Auckland suburb Meadowbank.

Teams are Niki Osborne and Tiffany Mair from Christchurch and Wanaka, Emma Diamond and Courtney MacKay of Dunedin, Sam Cable and Emmett Vallender from Wellington and Mount Maungaui chaps Dylan Cossey and Dylan Guitink.

The first episode airs on Sunday, May 29 at 7pm and continues Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm on TV3.
