Anika Moa's second children's album is proving just as big a hit as her first, with her latest offering currently No 1 on the New Zealand album chart.
Songs For Bubbas 2 was released last week and has raced up the New Zealand chart past Hollie Smith, Dave Dobbyn and Sol3 Mio.
It is also No 4 on the general albums chart in New Zealand, behind Deftones, Adele and Lukas Graham.
Reacting to the news, Moa said: "I honestly can't believe Songs For Bubbas 2 is sitting at No 1. The charts are for adult music. What is a little kid's album doing there? I guess it shows that at the end of the day, mothers do need awesome tunes for their kids."
The album, which has 12 tracks for children, started with a Pledge Me campaign.
Supported by her fans, Moa crafted the songs while staying in cottages around New Zealand.
The 12 tracks include adventures involving an escape from wild animals, being popped in a witch's stew, encountering a naughty, arts-obsessed rat who likes to "Chop! Chop!" and getting to know a Taniwha.
Meanwhile, Songs for Bubbas, released in 2013, is still No 5 on the New Zealand albums chart.
Moa, a mother herself, said her biggest source of inspiration while writing the songs is her own children.
"There's no better focus group or enthusiastic participants than a group of happy kids singing and dancing along. These 12 songs have earned my children's personal stamp of approval and it's so rewarding to see youngsters across New Zealand enjoying the music too.
"It's thanks to the support of fans young and old that Songs for Bubbas 2 has come together so well. I'd like to say a big thank you to every one of you."
Moa is currently on the road featuring in a "In Between Nap Times Tour".
