90s boy bands turn zombie killers in new flick

Backstreet's back, all right - but this time instead of fending off swarms of teenage fans, they're fighting off zombies.

90s boy groups Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync , 98 Degrees and O-Town have banded together to take on the undead in the new movie, Dead 7.

From the makers of Sharknado, Dead 7 sees boy band members Nick Carter, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough (BSB), Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick ('N Sync), Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) and Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller (O-Town) putting down the microphones and picking up guns in the Western Sci-fi.

"They're everywhere, and I'm running out of whiskey!" says Joey Fatone of 'N Sync, dressed in gritty Western garb, in the trailer released this week.

However, not all band members were involved in the film. Justin Timberlake formerly of 'N Sync won't be making an on-screen appearance.

According to Buzzfeed, Nick Carter will play the film's hero, Jack, who will unite the group in an epic fight against the zombies attacking their small town. Carter of BSB helped pen the story alongside Sawyer Perry who wrote the screenplay. The film is directed by Danny Roew.

Dead 7 is set for release in the US on April 1, with no international release dates announced.
