Walking Dead to rise in Universal theme park

The zombie apocalypse is upon us and it's going to be more fun than it sounds.

The Walking Dead is to receive its very own theme park.

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced it will be taking on AMC's The Walking Dead for a frightfully fun new "horror maze", located just inside the theme park's main entrance.

AMC has worked with Universal Studios Hollywood for years on a signature "Halloween Horror Nights" maze, but this new attraction will become a permanent fixture for the park. The show's executive producer and director, Greg Nicotero and his special effects team, KNB Efx, will be involved closely, making the world of The Walking Dead come alive inside the park.

The Walking Dead is in its sixth season, airing in New Zealand on TV2.
