She failed to make the final in last season's The Bachelor NZ but Chrystal Chenery certainly made an impression on our most recent Bachelor, Jordan Mauger, when the pair met eight years ago.
After meeting in Christchurch, the couple embarked on a whirlwind romance, with Mauger following her all the way to Canada after just three weeks.
Speaking to Woman's Day, Chenery said the pair were drawn to each other from the moment they met.
The couple, who were 25 and 23 at the time, dated for three months before calling it quits.
Describing their "crazy" time together, she said: "We partied all night and spent our days biking around the city. Jordan was a real romantic, always looking out for me and buying me presents.
"He's everything you'd want in a boyfriend - he's fun and exciting and always up for an adventure."
However, the couple's love didn't last long and they went their separate ways while remaining friends.
On reflection, Chenery says the timing wasn't right for them but things might have been different if they had met later in life.
"What we had wasn't really sustainable - relationships like ours only work out in the movies," Chenery confessed.
It seems Chenery may have ended up on the wrong season of The Bachelor?
The Dancing With The Stars contestant also revealed the woman's mag that New Zealand hasn't seen all Mauger has to offer yet on The Bachelor NZ.
"He's holding back a little bit now, which is only natural as everyone's watching him," she said. "But he's such a prankster. There have been a few cheeky comments here and there, but I hope his full personality shines through soon."
