Get ready to be hypnotised: British game show You're Back in the Room is being adapted for a New Zealand audience.

TV2 today confirmed a local version of the game show, which has only aired one four-episode season in the UK, would screen here at a later date.

The show involves four contestants competing in "physical and logical challenges which could win them a grand cash prize".

The twist is that each contestant has been hypnotised.

A trailer shows UK contestants being tricked into thinking their pants are too tight, and struggling through basic tasks like icing a cake or painting a picture.

The British show is hosted by Phillip Schofield, with Keith Barry as the hypnotist.

A host and screening date is yet to be confirmed by TV2, but those wanting to take part were encourage to apply here.

It follows TV3's recent adaptation of long-running US gameshow Family Feud, with Dai Henwood as host.
