An angry tirade by a Golden Globes presenter saw her microphone cut during the ceremony's live broadcast.

Thor and Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander was presenting an award with Amber Heard at the Globes when her teleprompter stalled.

After an awkward pause, Alexander laughed before angrily uttering: "Who types this shit?"

The expletive meant Alexander had her microphone briefly cut off.

The show is living up to its reputation as a free-wheeling, wise-cracking affair.

In the first hour, Andy Samberg joked about Bill Cosby giving a full confession and Jonah Hill presented an award wearing a bear hat.

Hill was bleeped twice for using profanity during his presentation.

Jamie Foxx tried to give the award for best soundtrack to NWA for Straight Outta Compton, despite the rap group not being nominated.

Gervais also delivered one of his most scathing monologues yet, mocking the awards themselves and saying he uses his three Golden Globe trophies as a doorstop, to attack burglars and as a sex toy.
