Brian Wilson, the musical brains behind the Beach Boys, is returning to New Zealand for a performance of the band's classic album Pet Sounds.
Wilson and band which includes fellow original Beach Boy - will perform the 1966 album at Auckland's Civic Theatre on Saturday March 26.
The tour marking the 50th anniversary of the album follows the acclaimed 2015 movie on Wilson's life Love and Mercy.
Hits from Pet Sounds include Wouldn't It Be Nice, God Only Knows, Caroline No, and Sloop John B.
Wilson, 73, last performed in New Zealand in 2004 where he performed the "lost" 1967 album Smile in a performance described in a Herald review as "gorgeous, amusing and frequently baffling."
The announcement coincides with a touring version of the Beach Boys, which features original Beach Boy Mike Love and band veteran Bruce Johnston, playing a show at Mt Maunganui tonight.
Tickets go on sale for the Civic Show on Thursday November 26.
