A contestant on The Block has admitted spending 20 minutes searching for a "left-handed paint roller" after being pranked by her fiance.
Jamie, who with her partner Hayden is a contestant on TV3's The Block: Villa Wars, told the Herald she also used a chisel as a screw driver after having a "blonde moment" on the show.
After The Block's first week, which has four couples renovating four rundown homes in Sandringham, the pair seem the least prepared for the rigours of the home renovation show.
Jamie admitted they were ill-prepared, telling the Herald, "We both came into this not knowing a thing".
"We don't know any processes, or anything at all really. But we did know it was going to be tough," she said.
Hayden said his preparation had involved acupuncture to "assist with stress and sleep" as well as regular meditation.
"The first week just takes it out of you. You are faced with so many challenges, you could prepare for the world to end and it still wouldn't be enough."
The pair seem destined for disaster after choosing rap group NWA as inspiration for their villa's renovation, choosing black as the main interior colour for their home.
Hayden admits the show is "much harder than I thought it would be".
"The hardest thing to adjust to is the non-stop nature of it. You are always doing something and always playing catch up - you are never really ahead of the game.
"It all just piles up on you and then it's a crazy rush to room reveal."
