Bachelors and dog lovers alike get yourself to One Tree Hill at 1pm today.
Alysha Brown, the Invercargill high school teacher who Bachelor Art Green reduced to tears, is throwing her support behind the Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust, which provides assistance dogs to children and people with multiple disabilities.
Brown is the proud owner of a black labrador named Brax and has a soft spot for animals and children, so ADNZ is the perfect charity for her to support.
She is helping lead a charity dog walk for ADNZ at One Tree Hill alongside Warriors' captain Simon Mannering.
Brown told Spy: "Come along with your fur baby and say hello. I'm excited to be walking one of the assistance puppies. These special dogs change kids' lives, but the life cost of just one dog is $48,000.
"I'm happy to support the cause and help raise money to help more families."
Each dog is specifically trained for the individual client's needs. The dogs help with disabilities as diverse as autism, diabetes and cerebral palsy. When Spy asked if she had found love of the human kind, Brown said: "There have been a few attempts.
"Some of the rumours may or may not be true. For the first time in my life I am dating and enjoying it, but have yet to find someone who grabs and keeps my attention."
Today's charity dog walk starts by the Auckland Observatory and children's playground in One Tree Hill Domain.
