American TV host John Oliver has teed off on the farcical quarantine ordeal of Johnny Depp's dogs - with typically hilarious results.
Yorkshire terriers Pistol And Boo were last week given a deadly ultimatum after Depp flew the pooches into Australia on his private jet without declaring them.
The news spread far and wide, with Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce at the centre for telling Pistol and Boo to "bugger off" back to Hollywood within 50 hours or be put down.
Now Oliver, who hosts HBO's news-comedy program Last Week Tonight and recently took a swipe at New Zealand Prime Minister John Key for pulling a ponytail, has taken aim at Mr Joyce's handling of the situation.

"I've gotta say, that's pretty ballsy," Oliver said during the show's latest episode.
"Elected officials very rarely risk openly telling puppies to go f*** themselves. He gave them a death countdown."
While Pistol and Boo left the country in safety and style on Depp's private jet, Oliver has set a countdown of his own - to remove all Australian things from America.
"I'm afraid that your minister has just made this personal, and America has no choice but to respond," he said.
A montage of Australian music and images played, with a deep voiceover demanding Australia takes back all the "Australian celebrities and garbage" in the US - or else an innocent koala gets it.
"You can start by taking back all your disgusting vegemite," the voice said.
"We're also going to need you to take back Rupert Murdoch and Mel f***ing Gibson.
"You see this koala joey at the Los Angeles Zoo? You now have 49 hours and 59 minutes to get him out of here, or we'll shoot him in his adorable face.
But there was one Australian celebrity Oliver wanted to hang onto.
"As for Hugh Jackman, we're keeping him. He's delightful."
