What do Mumford & Sons sound like without banjo?
The English folk-rock group has just unveiled for preview their first single, Believe, off their new banjo-less album.
The song opens with some soft electronic synth sounds, not too dissimilar to some of the tracks on Coldplay's recent album Ghost Stories, and there's also a rock guitar break-out that attempts to elevate them into a Kings of Leon-style stadium band.
The presence of Marcus Mumford's unmistakable soft vocals mean they're still recognisable. But it's a far more mature sounding band, more akin to the Coldplays and U2s of this world.
Believe is released on April 27, and the band's third album, Wilder Mind is out on May 4.
