5 Seconds Of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford had to sit out the group's performance at the Jingle Bell Ball in London after losing his passport.
Clifford was unable to leave the US to join his fellow bandmates at the festive O2 Arena concert, which also featured performances from Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift, who closed the second night of the annual Capital FM holiday bash.
The band alerted fans to the line-up change hours before their set, taking to Twitter to write, "So Mikey lost his passport. That means he cant fly to the UK & has to stay in the US, so were playing CapitalJBB as a three piece today (sic)."
The remaining 5 Seconds of Summer stars Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin managed to pull off an energetic set without Clifford, but Hemmings made it known his presence was missed by returning to Twitter after the show and writing, "Wasn't the same without Michael but we did our best, thanks jingle bell ball".
Clifford meanwhile admits that he was stupid and he is very sorry.
"Really really sorry to anyone I've let down by not being able to come. You get a free pass to call me stupid," he wrote on Twitter.
