Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger boarded a private chartered chopper yesterday afternoon from an Onehunga heliport to an unknown destination. Looking low-key and inconspicuous, the British rock star was keen to avoid attention.
A Metropolitan rental van pulled up on the tarmac with the rocker's luggage. His bags were packed and he flew out in a group with four or five others to an undisclosed location.
Could Jagger be sipping Merlot with his feet up at Eagle's Nest, Bay of Islands?
Keith Richards arriving for dinner at The French Café on Friday night using the private, back courtyard entrance.
A representative for Auckland Heliport would not deny Mr Jagger was there, but was hesitant to give any details.
Meanwhile, his Stones counterpart, Keith Richards dined at Auckland's French Café on Friday night with his wife, Patti, and a female friend. They made the booking under a false name and said they were music producers.
Richards and co entered the upmarket Symonds St restaurant through the back courtyard entrance, eager to avoid attention too. The big burly bodyguard, mind you, was a giveaway.
A rep for the restaurant said: "They were really lovely. They were very particular about wanting privacy and that's why they didn't come through the front door. But to be honest, I wouldn't have known who Keith was if I was dining in the restaurant."
