Nineties horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer is the latest movie to get a Hollywood reboot.
The 1997 film starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr was not only a hit, pooling US$125 million worldwide, but it also spawned two sequels (for those who lived).
It followed four teens who covered up a fatal car accident and were stalked by a killer a year later.
The Sony Pictures reboot, based again on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan, will be penned by Mike Flanagan (Oculus writer/director) and Jeff Howard.
However Flanagan tweeted he definitely is not behind the camera at this stage.
"Happy to be writing a new "I Know What You Did Last Summer." (I'm NOT, however, directing or producing... Not sure where that came from)," he tweeted.
Producer Neal Moritz, who produced the original movie 17 years ago, is back on board.
He's no stranger to reboots - Moritz produced 21 Jump Street and its sequels (23 Jump Street is currently in the works) and Total Recall.
