Charlotte Dawson's memorial service in Sydney will be a celebration of her life.

The red carpet has been rolled out at a memorial service for Charlotte Dawson in Sydney, where showbiz identities and celebrities have gathered to remember their friend.

Charlotte's sister Vicky, models Sarah Murdoch and Megan Gale and Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim are among the crowd of about 150 - as well as a large contingent of photographers - at the service at the Beresford Hotel in Paddington.

The service, billed as a celebration of the 47-year-old New Zealand born model's life, has a cocktail party vibe with music and Dawson's image on screens.

The TV personality was found dead in her Sydney apartment last Saturday.

Dawson had a history of depression and had been both a victim of and campaigner against online bullying.

The Service has been described as a "celebration" and guests have been asked to wear bright colours "to remember Charlotte's colourful spirit".
