Queen mean girl Ja'mie King is back.

Comedian Chris Lilley has resurrected "Australia's favourite b***h" for a new series titled Ja'mie: Private School Girl, to air later this year on Australia's ABC TV and America's HBO.

The six-part half-hour comedy series follows Ja'mie in her final year of school, back on home turf at Hillford Girls' Grammar School.

Ja'mie King is one of a number of characters created and portrayed by Lilley in 2005's We Can Be Heroes: Finding The Australian of the Year and 2007's Summer Heights High.

"I find teenage girls endlessly funny ... so being able to write for and play the meanest b**** in school has been so fun," series creator Lilley said in a statement.

"I can't wait to show everyone what Ja'mie's been up to."
