She's fast becoming one of the music world's most talked about pop stars and now New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde has received a ringing endorsement on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's website.
The 16-year-old from Auckland's North Shore, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, has won herself a legion of local fans on the back of her debut EP, The Love Club.
Her follow-up EP, Tennis Court, was released earlier this month.
Her first single, Royals, topped the New Zealand music charts, while her latest single, Tennis Court, debuted in the No. 1 spot last week.
Her first two live shows in Auckland and Wellington sold out in a matter of minutes.
But she's been making waves offshore as well, with the latest piece of buzz appearing on Seacrest's website.
The website has featured Lorde's just-released video for Tennis Court and in the post, music fans in the US are urged to "learn what those in New Zealand already know ... Lorde is the real deal!"
Lorde has also appeared in The Guardian's influential new band of the day column, while popular US website BuzzFeed proclaimed she was about to become a "very big deal".
Lorde has hinted online that she will release an album in September.
