Embattled US actress Amanda Bynes has a new nose after undergoing surgery to fix what she didn't like in a recent published mugshot photograph.

The Hairspray star was far from happy with her facial features in a new police snapshot that was taken while she was being booked for marijuana possession last month.

Following her arrest, Bynes told Twitter.com followers she really didn't like her nose in the mugshot, posting, "I'm getting in shape and getting a nose job!"

And now it seems she has followed through on her promise, telling TMZ.com she had rhinoplasty work done in Manhattan, New York on Saturday.

"I have no bandage on. It's healing on its own like my doctor asked," she said.

And Bynes is already making plans for her next nose job, adding, "I'm getting one more in three weeks, they are short amazing surgeries done while I'm awake but under general anaesthesia. It's almost perfect."

She tells the website that once her nose "doesn't look so awful in photos" she will stop hiding from the paparazzi.

That might explain her eccentric behaviour on the streets of New York, where she has been spotted wandering around with shirts wrapped around her head, concealing her face.
