Rebel Wilson brought her irreverent Aussie humour to the MTV Movie awards - transforming from a pink tracksuit into a black leather outfit as she mimicked Madonna's high-energy dance routine.
The live show in Los Angeles this afternoon opened with a video, supposedly shot in Australia, of former Oscar host James Franco telling the tracksuit-clad Wilson she had been tapped to host the awards.
At first demurring, Wilson claimed to have never hosted anything "bar a parasitic worm" but was soon strapped into an Iron Man suit that Franco said had been designed for Mila Kunis.
"Don't stretch it out," he warned.
The suit then shot across the sky to land at the live awards in Los Angeles, where Wilson emerged in her pink tracksuit decorated with embroidered koalas.
The fearless Aussie comedienne officially opened proceedings with a version of Eminem's Lose Yourself.
Accompanied by a team of sexy male singers and dancers, Wilson then stripped off to a black patent leather skin-tight outfit, channelling her inner pop diva in front of an Australian flag backdrop.
After accepting refreshments - a glass of water and a block of chocolate - Wilson launched her monologue in her strong Aussie accent.
"I am a bit surprised they chose me to host," she told the cheering crowd, adding "and so are MTV - they thought I was Adele."
