The singer of a US punk band has attacked a skinhead who did a Nazi salute onstage during a show in New York.
Boston band the Dropkick Murphys were performing an encore during a show at Terminal 5 in Midtown Manhattan last week when the incident happened.
The band invited female fans onstage for their singalong song Kiss Me I'm Sh*tfaced, which was followed by their 1998 anti-white supremacy song Skinhead on the MBTA, with more fans joining the band on stage.
As the band broke into a cover of ACDC hit TNT, a skinhead started doing a "seig heil" motion in time with the song. That's when bassist and vocalist Ken Casey stepped in, smashing the guy in the face, before removing his bass guitar and leaping on the man.
Once the skinhead had been removed, Casey addressed the crowd.
"Nazis are not f***ing welcome at a Dropkick Murphys show."
The band carried on, performing 2005 track Citizen CIA.
The Dropkick Murphys were last in New Zealand in 2011, at the No Sleep Til festival in Auckland.
