Keisha Castle-Hughes has announced her engagement after a whirlwind romance with the man she calls her "king".
The Whale Rider star this morning posted a tweet saying "he liked it, then he put a ring on it".
It linked to a picture of what appeared to an engagement ring on her finger.
Her fiancé is Auckland man Jonothan Morrison. The pair are understood to have started dating earlier this year.
Morrison confirmed the engagement to Castle-Hughes, who he called his "lovely queen", on Twitter.
Castle-Hughes refers to Morrison as her "king".
The engagement comes after she was embroiled in a pair of controversies related to her former partner Michael Graves.
He was charged with assault after allegedly grabbing Castle-Hughes during an argument in his car in February.
Police dropped the charges after a "routine" review of the case.
Castle-Hughes and Graves were also involved in an acrimonious rental dispute over their tenancy in a $1.4 million Mt Eden home.
