Iconic New York rap group De La Soul are set to headline two-day New Year's Eve festival Coromandel Gold.

De La Soul, who were last here with Gorillaz in 2010, will perform the headlining slot, alongside Aussie electronic outfit Cut Copy, Dutch drum 'n' bass trio Black Sun Empire and locals Shapeshifter, Kora, Shihad, Fat Freddy's Drop, Katchafire, AHoriBuzz and Sola Rosa.

More acts for the festival, which is held on December 30 and 31, will be announced at a later date. Camp sites are available.

Pre-sales begin on Tuesday here, with general tickets on sale from August 20.

Meanwhile, Far East Movement are coming to the New Zealand for the first time after cancelling a planned visit in February, 2011.

The Like a G6 electro-hop act will perform at Auckland's Town Hall on September 16, with American pop duo Karmin and Kiwi duo Jupiter Project playing in support.

Far East Movement cancelled their 2011 Auckland show after the devastating Christchurch earthquake, saying: "New Zealanders need to focus on their loved ones" and instead made a donation to the Red Cross.

Tickets for the show go on sale on August 17, with a Frontier Members pre-sale beginning August 13.

Elsewhere, Rhythm and Alps has announced its line-up for its annual December Festival, held at Terrace Downs in Canterbury on December 28 and 29.

It includes: SBTRKT Live, Hospital Records, Disclosure Live, Chali 2na, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, AHoriBuzz, The Nudge, Hermitude, Opiuo, Gas Lamp Killer, Spektrum, DJ Yoda and Electric Wire Hustle.

More acts will be announced, and tickets are available here.
