Kiwi supermodel Kylie Bax was conspicuously absent from her younger sister's wedding this weekend - despite living in Sydney.
Taryn Bax - who married long-time partner Matthew Welch yesterday in Matamata - said she was unfazed by her missing sibling.
"I'm not worried about it. It's no big deal. She's a busy person too, and she's got her children," she said.
It is understood Kylie's husband, Greek fashion photographer Spiros Poros, clashed with the Matamata-based Bax family.
On a recent holiday aboard the superyacht of close family friend Owen Glenn, Poros refused to put out his cigar.
Glenn had a strict no-smoking policy on the 30m yacht.
Glenn was the master of ceremonies for yesterday's wedding at the Bax family's horse stud.
Glenn, who this week bought into the Warriors, described Taryn as the "jewel in the crown" of the Bax family.
"If I was 30 years younger I would have given Matthew a run for his money," he said.
Glenn did not want to talk about the incident with Poros.
"It's personal to the family. I was just on my boat."
Taryn said her sister and Poros were made welcome but declined the invitation.
Poros and Kylie, 36, married five years ago and have three children together.
Taryn's husband had his three brothers as groomsmen. Taryn opted for close friends Julie Smith and Melanie Jones to be by her side at the altar.
"You know what sisters are like. We have our moments," Taryn said, when asked if she and Kylie were close.
And while severe weather hit the farm, Taryn was confident the day would go off without a hitch for the 88 guests.
"We have a wonderful barn here."
