Kim Kardashian plans to block any bid by her soon-to-be ex-husband, Kris Humphries, for spousal support.
According to the divorce papers filed by the reality starlet yesterday, Kardashian asked the court to reject any request by Humphries for spousal support. She also asked that both parties cover their own legal fees.
The couple's assets will be divided in accordance with their pre-nuptial agreement. The agreement protects all of Kardashian's assets prior to the marriage - the Kardashians reportedly made $65 million last year - and she will also keep everything she earned during their 72 day marriage.
Kardashian has retained celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has also represented Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Kiefer Sutherland.
Earlier today, Kardashian hit back at rumours her marriage was a hoax, taking to the internet to defend her doomed marriage to basketballer Kris Humphries.
Today it was alleged her marriage was arranged, with a producer on her Keeping up with the Kardashians reality show calling it a "hoax and a publicity stunt".
"It was pretty much an arranged marriage right from the start," the insider said. "Kim was
looking for a husband and Kris was selected for her, amongst others.
"She wasn't really into him but she hoped she would be able to develop some feelings, but it never happened. She was never particularly attracted to him.''
But Kardashian, who landed to a media scrum in Sydney today, has slammed the rumours in an online message.
Writing on her website, Kardashian called herself a "hopeless romantic" and hit out at rumours she married for the publicity.
"First and foremost, I married for love," she said.
"I can't believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show. I share so much of my life on a reality show, that contemplating whether to even film my wedding was a tough decision to make, and maybe it turned out to not be the smartest decision. But it's who I am."
But she admitted she had rushed into the wedding "too soon".
"Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a hopeless romantic! I love with all of my heart and soul. I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed into something too soon. I believed in love and the dream of what I wanted so badly.
"I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn't get off when now I know I probably should have."
Humphries has said he was blindsided by Kardashian's decision and wants to win her back.
Kardashian will give her first interview since the divorce announcement to Seven's Sunrise breakfast news show
