Rating: 3.5/5

Michael Franti is a salad of ethnicities, a happy guy who hasn't worn shoes for 10 years and a poet who believes music is sunshine. All of this comes through on this album, his seventh since combining with Spearhead in 1994.

Book-ended by the sun rising and setting, Franti skanks, shimmies and even rocks out to the soulful-pop of The Thing that Helps Me Get Through before chilling to Gloria. Crank it up when you fire up the barbie.
