Rating: 4/5

Grooving and strutting their way out of the same record stable as staunch soul diva Sharon Jones are afro-funk New York instrumental 10-piece The Budos Band.

As with Jones it sounds like music from a bygone era, but it's brand spanking new and with big brassy bursts and a devilish groove that never lets up, songs like Black Venom and Crimson Skies will make you feel like the coolest cat on the block.
