Home and Away star arrested in drug bust

A young star on Aussie soap 'Home and Away' has been arrested and charged with drug possession after being found with cocaine on him during a police crackdown at a nightclub in Sydney's Kings Cross, report Australian news media.

Todd Lasance, 24, who plays Ade Jefferies on the show, was reportedly celebrating the long-running drama's Christmas party with co-stars at the Kit and Kaboodle bar when a police sniffer dog allegedly detected the drug on him writes 9 News online

A police spokesperson said: "The 24-year-old Collaroy man was allegedly caught during a drug detection dog operation at the Darlinghurst Road club, just after 11pm (Saturday). He was issued a notice to appear in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, 18 January 2010 on a charge of possessing a prohibited drug."

Lasance joined Home and Away in 2005 but was already set to leave the series this coming January after announcing he was off to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.

It's the latest in a long line of scandals for Home and Away this year, reports celebrity online gossip site Ween.

In June, actress Jodi Gordon was reported missing after a night out in Sydney, only to be later found by police at the home of a suspected drug dealer.

Although Gordon admitted "cocaine had been consumed", she was later released without charge.

Also in June, another cast member, Lincoln Lewis, stunned fans after he admitted filming a sex tape with an unnamed Australian television star and showed the footage to his fellow cast members and crew.
