Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson may have found the actor to play Tintin in their adaptation of the popular comic book series by Georges Remi.
The Daily Mail is reporting that fresh-faced 17-year-old Thomas Sangster has been chosen to portray the Belgian reporter in the trilogy of films, which is due to begin shooting later this year.
Sangster first came to public attention following his role as a love-struck youngster in the movie Love Actually and is about to begin filming Jane Campion's Bright Star.
The Tintin project is shrouded in secrecy but the paper reported that Sangster - who is currently studying for his A-level exams - had already travelled to Los Angeles to work on preproduction test sequences with both directors.
Lord of the Rings actor Andy Serkis is believed to have been cast as Tintin's sidekick Captain Haddock.
