1. If you're in the mood for a midday fright fest, check out the spooky new trailer for upcoming horror flick The Apparition, featuring the incredibly awesome tagline: "If you believe it's real, you die". Starring Twilight's Ashley Greene, Harry Potter's Tom Felton and Sebastian Stan, the film follows a group of friends being bummed out by a violent spirit created during a university experiment that feeds on fear. Better dig out your old night light. (

2. If you've ever wanted to see a woman front the Foo Fighters, here's your chance. Check out video footage of Kristen Wiig singing I Love Rock and Roll, and Amy Poehler rocking her way through Bad Reputation, with Dave Grohl and co during the Saturday Night Live wrap party.Girls got swag.(Stereogum)

3. Josh Homme is a funny guy. Check out the Queens of the Stone Age front man hosting an unlikely and handwringingly awkward ad for the new Scissor Sisters album, in which he says: "Scissor Sitters and I will see you on the dancefloor". Yes, Scissor 'Sitters'. (NME)

4. Remaining Beastie Boys Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz have opened up about their late band mate Adam Yauch's death here and here. "I'm walking the dog and I'll start crying on the street," says Horowitz. The interviews are tough to read, but worth it. (Rolling Stone)

5. Beth Ditto and The Gossip have gone all disco on their new album. Personally, I miss the guitars, but check out their new stuff with this Live From Terminal 5 YouTube show. For someone who's so short, she has a towering set of lungs. (YouTube)

6. Check out a new video of the best track from Quakers, a new hip-hop project by Portishead's Geoff Barrow and featuring rapper Guilty Simpson. Loving those horn blasts. (Stereogum)

7. Yes, they're making a sequel to Piranha. It's called - what else? - Piranha 3DD and it stars David Hasslehoff and Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd. Oh, and a whole swimming pool full of fishy little nippers. Warning: The trailer features blood, bikini bods and someone uttering the immortal line: "There's something in the water". (Apple)

8. Here's Portlandia star and former Sleater-Kinney member Carrie Brownstein reminiscing about after-parties with the White Stripes. In animated form. Why not? (Pitchfork)

9. New music alert: Here's a soul-sampling new track from the currently-on-fire Childish Gambino called Tell Me, post-dubstep electro dude SBTRKT and his newbie Gamelena, and Doom and Oh No's collaboration 3 Dollars. (PMA)

10. The Great Gatsby trailer is out. The soundtrack includes Kanye West, Jay-Z and Jack White. Pretty sure they weren't alive in the 1920s, but whatevs. (

Great! You made it to the end. Your reward is Will Smith performing the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Gary Barlow on The Graham Norton Show. Smell ya later.
