Two men forced their way into a Christchurch home this morning, in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The men forced their way into a Woolston home on Lane St, at 7.15 this morning.
The occupants were threatened, before the men left with two phones and cash.
Detective James Haigh said police could only give limited information at this point.
"Police believe this was not a random incident and that the address was targeted for some reason.
"A scene examination and further enquiries are under way."
One man was in his 30s, about 180cm tall, and of solid build. He used a brown scarf to partly cover his face.
The other man was also in his 30s, about 170cm, and of a medium-chubby build. He was wearing a blue hoodie and brown scarf, which partly covered his face.
Both were wearing dark clothes, and are described as Maori or Samoan.
Anyone with information that may help the investigation should call Detective James Haigh at Christchurch Police on (03) 363 7400.
