A 28-year-old man wanted by police in relation to a shooting last Sunday has been found in Hamilton.
Te Aihurangi Edwards Tangiora, 28, is facing three charges - including one of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm - after a man was shot in the leg at a house on Seton Cres in Fairfeild on Sunday.
Hamilton Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said on Thursday that police believed number of individuals were involved in the incident and they wanted to speak to Tangiora about it.
Police also warned that anyone helping him evade police would be charged.
After conducting several searches police found Tangiora about 5pm today.
He was arrested and charged with using a firearm in the commission of an offence and participating in an organised criminal group in addition to the wounding charge.
Tangiora will appear in Hamilton District Court on Tuesday.
