Police are seeking witnesses to a crash which left a motorcyclist in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Customhouse Quay, Wellington.
The motorcyclist is now in a stable condition at the intensive care unit at Wellington Hospital, a Wellington hospital spokesman confirmed.
The accident happened around 5.20pm yesterday.
A police spokesman said police were not completely sure what had caused the crash but it seemed it "may have been a merging issue".
Sergeant Simon Paterson of Wellington Road Policing would like to hear from any witnesses to this crash, particularly in regards to the movements of a red sedan, described as possibly a 4-door sedan travelling north-bound in the middle-lane on The Quays.
