A man who hid methamphetamine inside two neck pillows has been arrested at Wellington Airport.
The 49-year-old man was carrying 1.5 kilograms of meth which had a street value of around $1.5 million.
He had travelled from Hong Kong via Sydney.
Customs investigations manager Maurice O'Brien said they were successful in identifying the man and seizing the drugs.
"Our intelligence-led approach has removed another large amount of methamphetamine from the drug supply chain preventing substantial harm to our communities."
The man will appear in Wellington District Court today charged with importing class A drugs and possession for supply.
