Bail has been denied for a 56-year-old man arrested after a drug bust linked to the Head Hunters gang.
Interim name suppression lapsed for Thomas Gordon Edwardson today at his appearance in the Auckland District Court.
He was arrested on 16 charges linked to Operation Sylvester on Tuesday.
Judge Christopher Field indicated an option of bail under electronic monitoring was a possibility that could be explored in the future.
Edwardson faces eight charges related to the manufacturing, possession and supply of methamphetamine and two charges related to ecstasy.
He is charged with organised crime and attempting to procure the grievous bodily harm of a man.
Edwardson also faces charges of possession of an assortment of heavy-duty firearms, ammunition and a pistol.
He is charged with more offences than anyone arrested as part of Operation Sylvester.
