A Hamilton woman who seriously injured her partner when she ran him over multiple times has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Annette Wallis had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm in the High Court at Hamilton in August.
An original charge of attempted murder was withdrawn.
The 44-year-old ran her partner down and drove over him four times in front of a shop in Melville last year.
She then drove her car off a cliff and into the Waikato River.
Justice Brown said he considered the offending serious because she chased the victim down the road and stopped running him over only when members of the public intervened.
