A repeat sex offender has pleaded guilty to 24 sex offences against young girls dating back to the 1970s.
The man, who has name suppression, appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning where he pleaded guilty to charges including rape and indecent assault.
The court was told some of the offences took place in the girls' parents' bedrooms.
The charges relate to offending against two girls who were aged under 12 at the time.
He will be sentenced next month.
The man is already serving an indefinite sentence of preventative detention for other sexual offending against young girls and Justice Graham Lang called for psychiatric reports to find out if another sentence of preventative detention was appropriate.
