Black Caps coach John Wright is holding off an immediate overhaul of his batsmen heading into the second test against Pakistan in Wellington.
Despite a humiliating defeat in the first test of his tenure, Wright says he is reluctant to tinker with his players' technique so close to the second test.
The former opening batsman was renowned for his longevity at the crease and hopes to instill that kind of doggedness into his team.
He says the focus this week has been on relishing the competition test cricket offers and trying to win every ball.
The second test starts at 11am tomorrow at the Basin Reserve.
