Forecast: Northeast 15 knots, but variable 10 knots south of Kaikoura. Becoming northeast 15 knots but 25 knots in the north this afternoon and northeast 25 knots everywhere this evening. Sea becoming rough. Southerly swell 1 metre easing. Northeast swell 1 metre developing.
Outlook: Outlook following 3 days: Rising Friday morning northeast 35 knots, easing Friday afternoon northwest 25 knots. Changing late Saturday southerly 35 knots. Becoming early Sunday northwest 15 knots,changing later southerly 15 knots. Sea very rough at times. Northeast swell becoming moderate Friday, easing Saturday. Moderate southwest swell developing Sunday.
