Along with the many acts heading our way this summer three more tours have been announced this week. Oklahoma-born rock 'n' roller JD McPherson is heading to New Zealand for the first time in celebration of his acclaimed release Let The Good Times Roll.
It showcases his retro-tinged rock, blues, rockabilly sound, and he'll perform with his band at the Tuning Fork on Saturday February 27. Tickets on sale from midday, Friday September 4.
Great 80s psychedelia proponents The Brian Jonestown Massacre will be returning this November for three shows.
It's part of their 25 Years — The Silver Jubilee Tour, combining some of their more recent songs from Aufhebens and Revelation, plus some older tracks which have never been played live before.
They'll be releasing a limited edition 10 inch EP, a "mini album" of all new songs cut together for the tour. They perform at the Dux Live in Christchurch on Friday November 6, Bodega in Wellington on Saturday November 7, and The Powerstation, Auckland, on Tuesday November 10. Tickets on sale now.
Also returning is British DJ Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED). The festival favourite will take over The Studio in Auckland on Friday January 8.
And Avalanche City has announced a proper national tour to celebrate the recent release of his second album We Are For The Wild Places.
With the record debuting at number 3, and his first single Inside Out bumping around the iTunes top 10 for weeks, Dave Baxter has decided his homeland needs to see some live shows, so he's hitting the road with his four piece band.
He'll be supported by Benny Tipene, and tickets go on sale next Thursday September 3 at midday.
