The public aspects of the biggest building do-up in New Zealand will be unveiled just before Christmas.

Lobby and entrance areas at the 38-level ANZ Centre on the corner of Albert, Swanson and Federal Sts will be open mid-December, says AMP NZ Office chief executive Scott Pritchard.

"The pavilion and lobby will open then and the onsite works will be finished by May next year," Pritchard said. "The job is on programme and we're continuing to deliver floors.

"So far, seven floors have been finished out of 20."

Internal floors are being stripped out and done up in a refurbishment programme worth $76 million.

AMP employed architect Warren and Mahoney, and builder Fletcher Construction on the project.
